The tradition of moonshining in Cannon County dates back to the Civil War, when Short Mountain was home to 18 distilleries.   150 years later, Short Mountain Distillery is not only keeping that Tennessee tradition alive, we’re keeping it local, sustainable, and we’re on the pathway to becoming the first USDA certified organic farm in Cannon county.

While moonshiners of the past weren’t known for their loose lips, at Short Mountain, we’re never one to let a good thing go un noticed, so we thought we’d let you in on a little secret.  For the first time in our history, we tapped into that old Tennessee tradition: whiskey bourbon. That's right, our first batch of Short Mountain Bourbon is barreled and waiting at the distillery. Get your glasses ready.
